Senior Procurement Specialist – IT Professional Service and Labour

Our Procurement group is responsible for a coordinated approach to making sure we have everything we need to provide world-class customer service. As the Senior Procurement Specialist within the IT Professional Service and Labour team you will enable the priorities of Telstra business units through the execution of strong commercial deals. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing the professional services contracts locally and globally which includes; IT Professional Services HR services, agency agreements, contract labour, training services and software
  • Negotiating large contracts and liaising with stakeholders with an aim to reduce costs
    Strategically viewing complex processes and able to offer input of how these could be improved and costs be reduced
  • Maintaining supplier relationships driving continuous improvement and efficiency through an in-depth understanding of our processes
  • Develop a fact based category plan through proactive engagement with the business unit stakeholders to ensure agreement and realisation of sound commercial outcomes
  • Leading cross functional teams to deliver solutions which align with business unit and Procurement & Supply Chain’s (P&SC) priorities. 

To be successful in the role, you will have: -

  • Demonstrated procurement experience delivering proactive strategic sourcing solutions.
  • Experience in leading complex contractual negotiations, often in short timeframes and across virtual teams.
  • Experience to work across a complex organisational structure where roles and responsibilities vary by topic/business unit.
  • Exposure to strategic procurement initiatives or large programs of work (either as a leader or significant contributor).
  • Be a strong influential leader and able to maintain successful stakeholder relationships
  • Have vast category strategy experience and be a strategic thinker
    Project management and change management skills.
  • Hold Tertiary Qualifications
