The opportunity with us

This role forms part of a high performing and dynamic commercial insights team that supports the business in providing insights and collaboration across different operational teams. As the Insights Analyst within Retail and MMF this role will focus in providing daily support across all operational activities to the Product & Device and S&OP business teams to achieve operational KPIs and financial targets.  They will perform evaluations, analysis and insights that help the business to remain competitive in the market. They will streamline and improve upon existing processes and create new models for business decisions to be made.

The role will be accountable for the collaborative relationship between Channel Operations S&S Insights and Products, Customer Experience and Channels to deliver against the 3 core functions of Channel Operations - maximised return for Telstra value, Channel value and Customer value.

About the role:

In this role you will:

  • Will be responsible for understanding key trends & value drivers pertaining to Products, Devices and Supply Chain. They are the key contact to leverage these insights across the overall product portfolio to support delivery of operational KPIs
  • Perform high level/advanced analysis and diagnosis and recognise patterns in data to initiate incremental improvements and solutions to existing processes, products and systems for MMF program, Products & Devices and Channel
  • Conduct research, modelling, forecasting, measuring and reporting to support business decisions for Products & Device Teams to mitigate risk and identify further opportunities.  Escalate unanticipated variations for approval
  • Partner with the Product Senior Leaders on shape of business and strategic priorities and ensure that Telstra’s priorities are aligned
  • Provide customer and channel performance insights and scenario planning to assist the business with planning
  • Identify and undertake analysis across the business covering – sales mix; channel differences; customer insights; trend analysis and commercial outcomes
  • Understand market / competitive trends and benchmark against external companies.
  • Provide quality advice based on relevant technical knowledge
  • Undertakes a leading role in developing business plans and/or programs as required
  • Recommend step improvements in own area and between areas, including awareness of best practice
  • HSE Responsibility: Take reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others, comply with and implement any reasonable Telstra HSE instruction, policy, standard, minimum requirement or procedure, and support Telstra to meet its duties under the relevant safety and environmental legislation.


  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong business partnering
  • Previous Telco experience highly regarded
