Senior Security Consultant

Role Summary:

As a Senior Security Consultant you will be a skilled industry expert and thought leader, driving growth and developing customer solutions.

Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to translate business drivers and needs into technology solutions. This will include communications at all levels of management and the ability to understand and model business cases including financial considerations.

We are specifically looking for an Enterprise Architect with strong specialisation and experience in Cyber Security and Networking. These skills are compulsory is terms of success within this role.

Key Accountabilities

The purpose of the role is to support the BTS team to deliver effective services to Telstra’s clients, through exceptional technical capability and service excellence. Specifically, the purpose of the role is to:

  • Lead discussions with enterprise customers on the use of cyber security and security networking to solve complex business problems
  • Accountable for all aspects of technical delivery
  • Deliver technical services to best practice standards by using checklists and following required processes
  • Execute technical customer engagements, produce design and implementation documentation
  • Implement security technologies to achieve the customer's objectives
  • Share knowledge within the project team to ensure highest standard of technical delivery
  • Continue to develop technical capabilities and knowledge
  • Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts
  • Manage contract negotiations
  • Ensure customer satisfaction (NPS)
  • ensure continuous improvement of one’s own knowledge to ensure necessary skills and competencies meet Telstra’s pipeline of work and strategic technology direction
  • Be actively involved in contributing to our team community
  • Expect moderate travel


  • 8-10+ years of designing and implementing core technology competencies
  • Solid experience in designing and implementing firewall solutions
  • Solid experience in designing and implementing networking solutions
  • Solid experience in designing and implementing web application firewall solutions
  • Sound time management skills
  • Excellent customer communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and technical troubleshooting skills / experience
  • Customer service focussed
  • Quality documentation and Visio skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
