Product Designer - Optus Sport

We’re looking for superstar Product Designers to work with our Optus Sport design lead and product managers to deliver against our targets to grow our NPS and subscriptions via simple user interfaces with relevant and exciting content.

 

This role is well suited for someone who thrives in fast-turnaround delivery teams. Accuracy, speed and high-quality design are key success metrics for this role.

 

What a typical sprint will look like for this role:

  • Oversight of development and quality of delivered digital components
  • Collaborating with developers and content producers to implement designs and user centred functionality
  • Delivery of digital assets adhering to Optus Sport Experience Design Toolkit, spec for all screen sizes (mobile, tablet and desktop) and platforms (Web, App & TV)
  • Collaborating with Product Design Lead and Product Managers on design of new customer journeys and interfaces, from low-def to high-def artefacts including sketching, wire-framing, interactive prototyping and visual design
  • Updates to digital style guide and pattern libraries where needed, auditing and fixing web interfaces to ensure the highest possible standard of visual design across Optus Sport.

 

What skills and experience you’ll need:

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Design, Mixed Media, Digital Marketing or related field
  • Folio of work with examples of web, apps or TV app designs.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role
  • Experience designing responsive web interfaces and app interfaces
  • Clearly communicates design work with solid rationale backed up with data
  • Can iterate with low-fidelity sketches of workflows and translate those into beautiful high-fidelity screen designs using Sketch, Zeplin, Adobe Creative Suite or similar
  • Experience or good understanding of design systems and component driven design
  • The ability to create prototypes at various fidelity using tools like Framer, Flinto, Keynote, InVision, HTML/CSS/JS, etc 
  • Expert with UX prototyping tools: Axure, Invision, Flinto, FrameX etc
  • Strong knowledge of WCGA AA+ Accessibility standards
  • Test driven UX design and ability to facilitate testing.

  • Collaborate with Product Owner, and Design Lead to resolve impediments
