Our Commission Operations is part of the Consumer Australia Finance Shared Services Group which is a trusted business partner of the Optus Operating Units. The Group provides best in class commission shared services offerings to the Optus group. The team is accountable for the calculation and timely payment of approximately $225m annually in sales commission, bonuses and incentive schemes across 2,500+ internal sales staff and 150+ external Channel Partners.

 

As the Commissions Business Analyst, your role will be to contribute to the strategic goals of the team by partnering with the business to identify our customers’ requirements and ensuring they are in line with Optus strategic objectives. Your responsibility will include focusing on understanding and delivering to the needs of the business in a streamlined, efficient and integrated manner that consistently provides valued services and insights.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure monthly Payroll and Accounts Payable timelines are met, and act as the point of contact for the commission calculation monthly review
  • Validation and reporting of all commercial analysis and control activities in line with timelines and quality expectations; ensuring satisfactorily design for avoidance of commissions leakages and compliance with reporting and audit requirements
  • Implementation and governance of commission rules within the TM1 reporting solution and represent Commissions on all TM1 related initiatives
  • Identifying and project managing large-scale process improvement opportunities across the team; including leading Sales in organisational changes, ensuring effective change management and implementation
  • Business case development and assessment to validate benefits of proposals; including scenario-based modelling for analysis of proposals
  • Perform user and system audit to ensure no unauthorised access is occurring across key systems
  • Build strong relationships with both the internal and external sales forces, and skill implementation groups to ensure the continuity of the incentive process

 

What makes you perfect for the role?

 

  • Degree and/or tertiary qualification in a related field
  • Proven demonstrated exposure to a variety of Sales, Finance and Communications and/or Commercial functions in a large organisation
  • Previous experience in a similar analyst role and highly developed analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid experience in process evaluation, reconciliation and implementation
  • Ability to facilitate day-to-day operational and strategic objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with co-workers at all levels including senior leadership
  • Experience or knowledge in systems such as:  TM1 and Incentive Compensation Management systems (Performio), Microsoft Suite and SQL Databases, is highly preferred
