Account Manager

The Team:

We are looking for a highly talented individual who is committed to an ethos of customer first, high integrity and strong ambition to succeed in a very complex and highly competitive account.


The Role:

This role is responsible for managing and selling into one of the largest Optus Business accounts and one of Australia’s largest Financial Services organisations.


Working with the Account Director and Team you will develop high level customer relationships to identify and sell complex product and service solutions and must have the skills and experience to deal with Senior Executives and stakeholders.


A high level of client relationship skills (CEO, CIO, CFO) strong planning skills, the ability to create and execute strategy, problem solving for solution development is paramount for this role.

Success will be evident in the measurement of billed revenue, the profitability of that revenue, the signing of new business orders, an increase in customer share of wallet and voice of the customer results.


Key Accountabilities (but not limited to):

-Maintaining high sales activity levels to generate an effective opportunity pipeline as well as work with Optus groups to ensure that new business is implemented effectively and that customers are satisfied with the process

-Develop sound customer relationships, covering all relevant contacts within the customer account. Manage the involvement of all other Optus groups responsible for supporting the customer.

-Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of your complete territory, your specific customers and the opportunities you are working on


Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in relationship/strategic selling in ICT solutions (cloud, Contact Centre, Digital Transformation, Cyber and Networking)
  • Experience in managing key commercial relationships and selling strategic business solutions, maintaining strong governance and sales discipline
  • Highly seasoned sales professional with extensive market and product knowledge
  • Sound experience in developing and executing strategic sales plans
  • Ability to identify and navigate complex organizational and political customer structures
  • Leverage personal credibility and networking abilities
  • Motivational and persuasiveness skills together with high level interpersonal skills
  • Ability to enlist senior support to influence a desired outcome
  • High level analytical capabilities
  • Proven history of working in a pro-active and entrepreneurial manner
  • Strong team-working skills.
  • Results driven
